Ingredients

1. Chicken 500 gms
2. Green Chilli 2 nos
3. Large Onion 2 nos
4. Medium Large Tomatoes 2 nos
5. Tamarind Paste 1 Teaspoon
6. Ginger Garlic Paste 2 Tablespoon
7. Red Chilli Powder 2 Teaspoons
8. Turmeric Powder 1/2 Teaspoon
9. Coriander Powder 2 Teaspoon
10. Pepper Powder 1 Teaspoon
11. Cardamom 2 nos
12. Cinnamon Sticks 2 nos
13. Cloves 2 nos
14. Bay leaves 2 nos
15. Curry Leaves A small bunch
16. Coriander Leaves A small Bunch
17. Sunflower Oil 50 gms
18. Salt To taste





Cooking Method

Cut Chicken into medium pieces, Onion finely chopped.
Straight cut green chillies. Grind tomatoes into fine paste.

Take quarter glass of water and add 1 teaspoon of
thick tamarind paste and mix them well.

Take chicken pieces in a bowl. Add ginger garlic
paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander
powder, curry leaves, tamarind paste and salt to
taste in the bowl.

Mix them well and set it aside for 10 minutes.

Now heat up a big pan, and add oil

After the oil get heated add cloves, cardamom,
cinamon stick and bay leaves.

Add onion and green chilli and heat it for
few minutes.

When the onion turns golden brown add the
tomato paste and heat it till the tomato paste
and onion are cooked.

Now add the marinated chicken in the pan and
stir fry for 5 to 8 minutes in medium heat.

Stir well such that the chicken gets cooked evenly.

Now add the pepper powder and coriander leaves.
Add quarter glass of water and cook the chicken
in medium heat.

Heat the chicken till it gets cooked and forms
a nice thick gravy.

Tasty Chennai chicken varuval is now ready.
It is best side dish with curd rice, chappathi dhal.
